Title: On Inter-translation of Chinese and Western Idioms from the Perspective of the Translation Aesthetics
Abstract: Idioms are the essence of language. Translation of idioms is always the controversial issue. Idiom translation is very flexible: in a pure situation (isolated idioms without considering context) and in a flexible way (concerned with idiom translation in different context, about different usages and in different styles). It depends according to different situations. In a word, idiom translation should have the sense of aesthetics, mainly based on the translator's complete understanding of the original language, and should change according to the feeling, the situation, then deal with skillfully.
