Title: IMPROVEMENT OF STRIPPING GERMANIUM FOR SYNERGISTIC EXTRACTION PROCESS OF GERMANIUM AND GALLIUM
Abstract: A study on stripping Ge in synergistic extraction has been carried out directing at the drawbacks of the new technology for In,Ge Ga recovery in an electrolytic zinc plant in theauthor's previous work.In this paper, emphasis is laid on the new stripping agent-AN-64 and two alternative routes for recovery of Ge from stripping liquid are proposed. Not only can the new method overcome the drawbacks of the HF stripping process, such as toxicity, high corrosivity, difficulty in recovery of Ge from the stripping liquid, the need of enrichment for 2 times and low stripping rate using ammonia as stripping agent, but it can retain the following advantages, such as the high stripping rate in the HF stripping process and non-toxicity,low corrosivity, and easy recovery of Ge from the stripping liquid using ammonia, etc. The second enrichment can also be omitted.Hence,It is a successful new method for stripping Ge.
