Title: Photo-degradation Kinetics of 4,4'-Dibromobiphenyl in Aqueous Solution
Abstract: 4,4'-dibromobiphenyl as a flame retardant was studied with respect of its environmental behavior.Effects of the factors such as those under natural condition,e.g,light intensity,dissolved oxygen and pH,on degradation of 4,4'-dibromobiphenyl in aqueous solution was investigated in the laboratory,which indicated that the photo-degradation of 4,4'-dibromobiphenyl under the illumination of high-pressure Hg lamp followed pseudo first-order kinetics.It was also found that addition of certain amounts of humic acid and Fe3+ could boost the photo-degradation.
