Title: Effect of Different Silage Additives on Alfalfa Silage Quality
Abstract: The experiments selected medicago sativa L.as silage materials, and designed by randomized-block. The silage quality (pH value, NH3-N and concentration of lactic acid) was studied under adding different additives. Those additives were as follows: formic acid in proportion as 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0ml/kg, sucrose as 10, 20 and 30g/kg, PFJ as 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5ml/kg and Bromus inermis in mass proportion as 25%, 33% and 50%. Overall analyzed, the results showed: that 30g/kg of sucrose gave the most significantly benefit for alfalfa silage, sequentially were 6.0ml/kg of formic acid, mixed silage, single alfalfa silage and PFJ.
