Title: A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS GONIOGRYLLUS CHOPARD FROM GANSU,CHINA (ORTHOPTERA, GRYLLIDAE)
Abstract: In this paper, a new species of the genus Goniogryllus from Gansu, China is described. Type specimens are deposited in Wuhan Polytechnic University.Goniogryllus gansuensis sp. nov. (Figs.1-3)This new species is allied to Goniogryllus ovalatus Chen et Zheng,1996, but differs in: 1)longitudinal and transverse veins of fore-wing obvious; 2) lateral sides of the first abdominal tergite in female with yellowish-brown bands; 3) 4~ th -9~ th terga of abdomen in male black, smooth and shining; 4) inner margin of hind lobe of epiphallus in male straight.Length of body: ♂ 11.2-11.6mm, ♀12.0-16.6mm; length of pronotum: ♂ 2.2-2.4mm,♀2.3-2.6mm; width of pronotum: ♂3.5-3.7mm,♀3.8-4.0mm;length of fore-wing: ♂0.5-2.6mm,♀0.4-1.2mm; length of hind-wing : ♂1.0-2.6mm, ♀0.9-1.3;length of hind femur: ♂7.4-7.6mm,♀7.6-8.2mm;length of hind tibia: ♂4.6-5.2mm,♀5.2-6.0mm;length of ovipositor: 9.6-11.2mm.Holotype♂,Kangxian, Gansu Province, China, 1450 - 1650 m, 15 July 1998,collected by CHEN Jun. Paratypes: 10♀♀,6♂♂,same data as holotype.Etymology. The new species is named after the locality where the specimens have been collected, the Gansu Province.
