Title: Experimental Study on Anticomedone Effect of Anti-acne Gel of Curcuma in Rabbit Ear Acne Model
Abstract: Objective To establish an experimental acne model of rabbit ear by coal tar to observe the effect of anti-acne gel of curcuma ( AGC) on the acne animal model. Methods Thirty male rabbits were randomly divided into model group, base group,AGC low dosage,AGC high dosage and positive control group. After successful modeling, the model rabbits which right auricular tube were not administered with any drugs were in the model group, the other four groups were treated respectively with base gel ( 1g) 、AGC ( 1g) 、AGC ( 2g) 、 Tretinoin Cream ( 1g) for external use everyday. After 3 weeks, observing the AGC anti-acne effects by naked eye observation as well as histology observation. Results After using the coal tar for 2 weeks, the surface of ears became rougher and thicker, and the comedo could be seen, and the histology change was similar to that of human comedo. Two weeks after giving AGC and Tretinoin Cream, the ears became thinner and softer, and the comedo was decrease and extincted, and the change could be seen in histology. Conclusion AGC can reduce the area of hair follicle, the diameter of sebaceous gland, the thickness of epidermis, and inflammatory cell infiltration in dermis.
