Title: Application of the determination of serunl procaldtonin and C reactive protein in patient with lower respiratory infection
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical value of procalcitonin(PCT) and C-reactive protein(CRP) on the diagnosis of adult respiratory infections. Methods A total of 52 cases of bacterial infections of lower respiratory tract infections was detdected PCT,CRP corroding to classification according to the different types of infection, and to compare with infection group. Results of bacterial infection group(8.9±1.2)ng/mL,non-bacterial infection group(0.1±0.09)ng/mL,the difference was statistically significant(H = 18.12,P = 0.012).Bacterial infection subgroup analysis of different types of infection sepsis group,hospital-acquired infection group, the reorganization of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and non-bacterial infection group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05),other lower respiratory tract infection group was not statistically significant(P 0.05) compared with non-bacterial.APACHE score and the procaldtonin levels suggesting that there is a positive correlation(r = 0.58,P = 0.02).Conclusion Serum PCT and CRP joint detection in the early diagnosis of bacterial infections had a useful index to evaluate the lower respiratory infection.
