Title: Analysis of Folk Knowledge of Plants Used for Treatment of Rheumatism in the Eastern Inner Mongolian Communities
Abstract: Folk medicinal plants of 34 species,1 sub-species,2 varieties and 1 form were documented in the paper,which are traditionally used by the indigenous people in eastern Inner Mongolia for treatment of rheumatic diseases.The medicinal parts of plants include the whole plants,the upper parts,roots and bulbs,stems,leaves,flowers,fruits and/or seeds.Thirty-two species or taxa were prepared from only one medicinal part,and 4 species from two parts.The usages of these folk herbal medicine plants included decoction and external uses.Folk dosage and administrations are fairly simple.Eight species of them were newly reported for treating rheumatic diseases and 12 species have the same function as the previous records.Thirteen species possessed different medicinal parts.Three species has effects of expelling wind and removing dampness,but no functions for rheumatism curing.Based on our preliminary documentation and analysis,the authors proposed possible clue to explore the new drugs for rheumatism.
