Title: Therapeutic Study on Acupuncture plus Medicinal Cupping in Treating Periarthritis of Shoulder
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture with medicinal cupping in treating periarthritis of shoulder. Method A hundred and twenty patients with periarthritis of shoulder were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 60 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture plus medicinal cupping, and the control group was by exclusive acupuncture treatment.Shoulder function score of before and after treatment and clinical efficacies in the two groups were observed.Result The total effective rate was 96.7%in the treatment group versus 86.7%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).In comparing treatment times for recovery, the treatment group was significantly different from the control group(P0.05).Inner-group comparison of shoulder function score showed marked differences in both groups(P 0.01),and the treatment group was superior to the control group in improving the shoulder function score(P0.05).Conclusion Integrated use of acupuncture and medicinal cupping is an effective approach in treating periarthritis of shoulder.
