Title: Relationship between C reactive protein and urinary albumin excretion rate in type 2 diabetes
Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between C reactive protein(CRP) and urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) in type 2 diabetes. Methods 100 patients type 2 diabetes were divided into 3 groups according to UAER including normal albuminuria(UAER20 μg/min)(n=30),microalbuminuria(UAER20-200 μg/min)(n=35) and clinical albuminuria(UAER200 μg/min)(n=35).Blood fat and BMI were measured. Results In age, sex,BMI and blood fat, there was no significantly difference between three groups. The course of disease in microalbuminuria and clinical albuminuria was significantly longer than that in normal albuminuria(P0.01).CRP in microalbuminuria was higher than that in normal albuminuria(P0.05).CRP in clinical albuminuria was significantly higher than those in normal albuminuria(P0.01)and microalbuminuria(P0.05).CRP was correlated with UAER(r=0.859,P0.01).Conclusion CRP is helpful to the early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy.
