Title: Application of combined Spinal-epidural Anesthesia in the Elderly Undergoing Transurethral Endoscopic Surgery
Abstract: Objective To observe clinical effects and safety of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia(CSEA) in eldly patients undergoing transurethral endoscopic surgery. Methods Sixty geriatric patients scheduled for transurethral endoscopic surgery were randomly divided into two groups with 30 cases each. The patients in group CSEA received combined spinal-epidural anesthesia,in group CEA epidural anesthesia.SBP,DBP,HR and SPO2 were recorded before anesthesia,at1,5,10,15,30 minutes after anesthesia, and at the end of operation. The onset time of anesthetic effect, the time of achieving T10 level of anesthesia were observed and recorded. The anesthetic efficacy was evaluated. The incidence of using intravenous, adverse effects and complications were observed and recorded. Results Either CSEA or CEA can be used in transurethral endoscopic surgery. But the anesthetic efficacy was better significantly in group CSEA than that in group CEA(P0.01).The onset time, the time of achieving T10 level of anesthesia were shoter significantly in group CSEA than those in group CEA(P0.01).Hemodynamic effect was smaller in group CSEA than that in group CEA(P0.05).Adverse effects and complications were less in group CSEA than those in group CEA(P0.05).Conclusion CSEA is more suit for eldly patients undergoing transurethral endoscopic surgery in safe, active stage with faster onset, less complications and better anesthetic efficacy.
