Title: Aesthetic Beauty of Love Tragedy in Hua Shan Ji
Abstract: Hua Shan Ji is composed of 25 poems written in Nan Dynasty and has been praised as a masterpiece among love songs of Wu Region of Nan Dynasty. The first poem depicts the love tragedy of a scholar living in Nanxu and a lady in Hua Shan. Despite the very strange plot, the insistence and forever-lasting affection for each other deeply moves and surprises common people. Particularly, the lady values her love above her life and even sacrifices her life for love. The whole poem is of great aesthetic value and far-reaching significance for its unique figures of speech such as pun, metaphor, and exaggeration as well as irregular sentence patterns and unique style in dialect.
