Title: Study on Water Storage Ability of Forest Soil in Watershed in Aohan County
Abstract: Water storage ability of soil in different site conditions and types of wood land was determined and compared in Dawujia watershed in Aohan County,Inner Mongolia. The results showed that the order(from big to small)of water storage ability of soil in different forest: pure forest of Pinus tabulaeformis(1 985.52 t/hm2) pure forest of Populus simonii(1 923.81 t/hm2) mixed forest of P.simonii and Caragana korshinskii(1 904.22 t/hm2) pure forest of Prunus ansu(1 896.38 t/hm2) mixed forest of P.tabulaeformis and Hippophae rhamnoides(1 867.98 t/hm2) mixed forest of Morus alba and Prunus ansu(1 765.13 t/hm2) pure forest of Caragana korshinskii(1 637.79 t/hm2).The water storage ability of soil of highwood and arbor-shrub mixed forest are stronger than shrub, which the water storage ability of soil in P.tabulaeformis forest in shady slope is the strongest. The water storage ability of soil is different with different site conditions, regardless of what kind of forest land, shady slope is better than sunny slope, lower part is better than upper part.
