Title: Sound power minimization for a plate with visco-elastic damping based on theory of acoustic radiation modes
Abstract: The sound power minimization design with weight restriction of a thin plate was studied to reduce noise radiation due to its vibration.Using a finite element vibration model to deal with structural vibration and an acoustic radiation modal model to deal with noise radiation,the optimization design was investigated with the feasible direction method.The sound power minimization model of a plate with damping and weight restriction was established for a rectangular plate with visco-elastic damping.Results showed that the optimal design has remarkable efficiency to reduce noise.
