Title: China's Popular Culture and Mass Media:A Study in the Context of Transformation
Abstract: Since an overall intercommunion between East and West is enhanced by globalization and informationization,the resulting impact has accelerated a profound transformation of the tradition and society in China.Therefore,it is necessary for us to discuss our problems in a global context.A complicated society is cultivated under the influence of traditional history,inert factors inherent therein and the proliferation of commercial culture and pluralistic values.Being a cultural apparatus that has great impact upon society,media has very strong polymerizing and radiating power and contributes a great deal to the spread of culture.Nowadays,the characteristics and development of media culture is exerting considerable influence on the trend of culture transformation.What we should do is to find a mature and healthy culture mode to meet the requirement of the evolution of modern society.As such,public media should understand what its function is and endeavor to seek a way to accomplish its own mission.
