Title: Clinical study of relationship between pulse pressure and large artery distensibility and endothelial function in old patients with hypertesion.
Abstract: Objective To explore relationship between PP and large artery distensibility and endothelial function in old patientes with hypertension. Methods 69 patients with hypertension were selected,Divided all patients into 4 groups by PP.B-mode ultrasound was applied to scan carotid artery, brachial artery during reactive hyperemia caused by endothelium-dependent dilatation and the diameter after sublingual glyceryl trinitrate induced by endothelium-independent dilatation. Results In higher PP groups, diastolic diameter(DD)of carotid artery was also bigger. However, the difference between diastolic and systolic diameter(D(S-D))and D(S-D)/DD were lower in higher PP groups.PP had more positive correlativity with IMT than SBP,DBP and MAP.The bigger PP,the less Flow-mediated dilation(Flow-MD).These difference were significant. Conclusion Augmentation of PP was closely related to a decrease in large artery distensibility and a reduction in endothelial function in patients with hypertension.
