Title: The Strategies of Colleges and Universities to Solicit Contributions
Abstract: In order to speedup development colleges and universities should get financial support from the society apart from receiving investment of the government, scientific research funds from different supporters and tuitions from students. Social contribution has become an important financial resource of colleges and universities. According to the successful experiences of two famous universities, Cornell University and Michigan University, the former of which is private while the latter of which is state-run, the strategies advocated for colleges and universities to solicit contributions are deciding the most important contribution, explaining requirements for development, stimulating interest of contributors, paying attentions to combing large programs with small programs and keeping continual contact and friendship with contributors.
