Abstract: The period of Wei-Jin and Northern Southern Dynasties was the time of laying a foundation of ancient Chinese rhetoric: the distinction between verse and non-verse was perceived in style.Dian Lun·Lun was written by CAO Pi in Wei dynasty,as the first comprehensive study of ancient Chinese rhetoric.Some theories and works devoted greatly to the later researches on rhetoric theory,including meaning not full expressible in represented by XUN Can,meaning grasped words forgotten represented by WANG Bi,meaning full expressible in wordsrepresented by OUYANG Jian,the Jin works of Wen Fu by LU Ji and Bao Pu Zi by GE Hong,and the Southern dynasty works of Wen Xin Diao Long by LIU Xie,Shi Pin by ZHONG Rong,Selected Works edited by XIAO Tong.Wen Xin Diao Long,in particular,was the first most comprehensive monograph which was called the monumental work of ancient Chinese rhetoric.
