Title: Comparative Analysis and Its Clinical Significance of Sotalol and Propafenone on QT Dispersion
Abstract: Objective To compare the effects of Sotalol and Propafenone on variation of QT dispersion(QTd)in the patients with recurrent ventricular arrhythmias. Methods A random,single-blind and respective study was performed in 59 patients. The QTd were measured before and eight weeks after the treatments of Sotalol(n=30)and Propafenone(n=29). Results(1)The QT in Sotalol group was obviously increased but QTd was decreased on the contrary(P<0.01).No sig- nificant differences of QT and QTd were found in Propafenone group(P>0.05);(2)The effective rates of Sotalol and Propafenone groups were 73.3% and 75.9% respectively(P>0.05)but the recurrent rates of ventricular arrhythmias were 22.7% and 72.7% respectively(P<0.05)in one month after withdrawal of drugs. In Propafenone group,QTd in patients with recurrent ventricular arrhythmias were significantly increased than those of controls(P<0.01).Conclusion The de- crease of QTd was probably an important factor of lower recurrent of ventricular arrhymias after Sotalol reatment.
