The tectonic loading on the neighboring shields caused by the uplift of the orogeny led to the warping of rocks, and formation of foreland basins on both sides of the Tianshan orogeny. The North Tianshan foreland basin is located at the southern margin of Junggar basin, extending from Bogda mountains to Erenharbirga mountains, with a total length of over 450 km and width of 70-80 km. The evolution of the foreland basin is accompanied by formation of rich energy resources and records the evolution of orogenic processes.Read More
