Title: The expression of angiopoietin-1、angiopoietin-2 and Tie2 receptors in hemangiomas and vascular malformations and its significance
Abstract: Objective To investigate the pathological mechanism of hemangioma and vascular malformation, the expression of Ang-1、Ang-2 and Tie2 in hemangioma and vascular malformation was evaluated and its significance was analyzed. Methods The expression of Ang-1、Ang-2 and Tie2 in endothelial cells was investigated by immunohistochemetry Using the S-P method,in specimens of hemangioma and vascular malformation together with normal skin as a control. Results The highest expression of Ang-2 and Tie2 was found in the proliferating hemangioma group, and the second highest expression group was the involuting hemangioma. The weaker expression was found in the group of vascular malformations which showed no significant difference with that in the control group. However, expression of Ang-1 in all groups was similar. Conclusion Ang-1、Ang-2 and Tie2 receptors may play important roles in the processes of angiogenesis and spontaneous regression. The expression of Ang-1、Ang-2 and Tie2 appears to have no relationship with the development of vascular malformation.
