Title: Synthesis of 2-diethylamino-6-methyl-4-hydroxy-pyrimidine.
Abstract: 2-diethylamino-6-methyl-4-hydroxy-pyrimidine was synthesized from diethylguanidine nitrate and ethyl acetoacetate.The effects of some factors such as reactant ratio,reaction time and reaction temperature on the yield were investigated.The optimum reaction conditions were obtained.The optimum conditions were as follow: the mole ratio of diethylguanidine nitrate to ethyl acetoacetate to sodium ethylate was 1∶1.2∶1.2,reaction temperature 110℃,reaction time 2h,and toluene as the solvent.The yield and purity of 2-diethylamino-6-methyl-4-hydroxy- pyrimidine reached 91% and 99%,respectively.
