Title: Allelopathy Effect of Aqueous Extracts of Eupatorium adenophorum of Different Parts with Different Concentrations on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Eucalyptus globulus
Abstract: In order to study the allelopathy effect of Eupatorium adenophorum on Eucalyptus globulus, the germination experiments of E.globulus were conducted by treating the seeds with aqueous extracts of Eupatorium adenophorum of different parts including leaf, flower, litter, stem and root of different concentrations. The results showed that the inhibitory effects of flower and leaf were stronger than other parts on seed germination and seedling growth, flower and leaf extracts of 0.067 g/mL was almost deadly for seed germination and seedling growth of E.globulus.At the same concentration, the aqueous extracts of litter, stem and root had strong inhibitory effect, caused germination quantity decrease and seedling distort significantly. At the concentration of 0.020 g/mL,flower and leaf extracts still had significant inhibitory effect, whereas the inhibitory effect of litter, stem and root decreased obviously, and even turned to stimulating effect. The inhibitory effect of the extracts of 0.005 g/mL got weaker and the stimulating effect became stronger, and the seedling could grow normally.
