Abstract:The olympus microscope,scanning electron microscope,impact testing machines and material testing machine were used to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of low alloy cast steel f...The olympus microscope,scanning electron microscope,impact testing machines and material testing machine were used to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of low alloy cast steel forging die before and after the failure.Microstructure analysis indicates that the microstructure of cast steel generates cyclic softening in the process of thermal cycling and stress cycling.The microstructure of the cast steel is tempered sorbite and the fracture morphology of the cast steel is characterized by second-crack after the failure.The results of property testing show that the tensile strength,yield strength elongation and reduction of area slightly decreased while the tensile strength and yield strength of the cast steel is lower by about 8.62% and 10.63%.Read More
