Title: Clinical and radiological appearance of postoperative augmentation mammoplasy with PAHG and its effect on imaging diagnosis
Abstract: Objective To analyze the clinical and imaging appearance of post-operative breast augmentation with PAHG and its effect on imaging diagnosis, and to explore the most suitable imaging examination. Methods All the 37 cases were examined clinically and then underwent mammography, among which 15, 5 and 6 cases underwent ultrasound, CT and MRI examinations respectively. Results PAHG affected mammography in the identification and determination of the mass or nodular lesion in the breasts; It showed little influence on the imaging of calcification; It interfered with the judgment of cystic lesion in ultrasound; Its intensity or signal was similar to water and it had little influence on CT and MRI, but high dose x-ray exposure was the major drawback of CT. Its distribution and leakage as well as the internal structure were clearly demonstrated by MRI and ultrasound. Conclusions Post-operative breast augmentation with PAHG affects the observation of breast lesion in imaging examination. Mammography and MR are the most suitable imaging examinations for this kind of breast disease. Ultrasound and MRI remain to be satisfying approaches for visualization of PAHG.
