Title: Study on genetic diversity and genetic differentiation among Bashibai sheep populations
Abstract: The four Bashibai sheep populations in Xinjiang, which contain 189 individuals, were detected using 10 microsatellite markers. And the genetic diversities, genetic differentiation and the phylogenetic relationship were analyzed in this study. The results showed that 110 alleles were detected in the 10 microsatellite markers of Bashibai sheep and the average number of allele was 11 in each locus. The average polymorphism information content was 0.791 4 in the 10 microsatellite markers of 4 sheep populations, and the average heterozygosity was 0.814 9,which showed that the 4 populations of Bashibai sheep have plenty of genetic diversities. The global heterozygote deficit across all populations was-0.178 2.The overall significant deficit of heterozygotes because of inbreeding within breeds was-0.211 2.The coefficient of genetic differentiation was 0.023 7,indicating that 2.37% of the total genetic variation could be explained by breed differences and remaining 97.63% by differences among individuals for each population. The average gene flow was 8.916 7.The cluster analysis showed that the genetic relationship between red hair strain and black hair strain was nearer, and then got together with white hair strain, and at last got together with new lean strain sheep. The cluster analysis was generally in accordance with their breeding history.
