Title: Intersection AnticlineA New Petroleum Trap in Thrustfold Belts
Abstract: An intersection anticline is a special kind of faultrelated fold formed in thrustfold belts. It was developed in structural transforming belts between the lateral, oblique and frontal ramps of the lower wall. The hanging wall strata plunged along a kink axis surface and formed the anticline structure The intersection anticline is characterized by both branchanticline in view of plan and asymmetric faultrelated fold in view of profile section As an example of intersection anticlines, the Arketuolaer anticline in outer Pamirs thrustfold belts is studied From the study, it is pointed out that this kind of anticline is a special hydrocarbon trap and is important to structural interpretation in petroleum exploration
