Title: Lomefloxacin injection in treatment of 110 patients with acute bacterial infections
Abstract: AIM: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lomefloxacin injection in the treatment of acute bacterial infections. METHODS: A total of 190 patients (160 patients in a randomized trial, 30 patients in an open trial) were divided into 2 groups. One hundred and ten patients (M 54,F 56; age 54 a± s 11 a) in treatment group received 200-400 mg,iv,qd for 7-10 d. Eighty patients (M 45,F 35; age 53 a±10 a) in control group received ciprofloxacin 200-400 mg,iv,bid, for 7-10 d. RESULTS: The effective rate and the bacterial clearance rate of the treatment group were 86% and 81% respectively, and that of the control group were 80% and 73% respectively. No significant difference was found between the 2 groups ( P 0.05). The adverse reaction of lomefloxacin was 4%. CONCLUSION: Lomefloxacin is the effective and safe antibacterial in the treatment of bacterial infections.
