Title: Sorption Isotherms of Calcium to Sediments of Lake in Different Phosphorus Concentrations
Abstract: Effect of calcium in lake on phosphorus adsorption characteristics is very important for high calcium lake.Adsorption characteristics of phosphorus and effect of calcium on sediments of typical lake in North China were investigated with Langmuir model. Results showed that the maximum adsorption amount varied from 208.77~450.45g/kg,that was highly correlated to the content of Fe and Al in sediment with coefficient of 0.767,which indicated Fe and Al in sediments were comparatively important for adsorption of phosphorus.Zero-equilibrium phosphorus concentration was much higher than that of overlying water in most sampling sites, which indicated the sediments released phosphorus into water.Accompanied with increasing calcium concentration in water, the maximum adsorption amount was increased while zero-equilibrium phosphorus concentration mostly decreased in the sediments, which indicated that high calcium concentration in water was helpful to control phosphorus concentration in water and further to reduce the risk of lake eutrophication.
