Title: SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION PATTERN OF TRACE ELEMENTS CONTENTS OF LATOSOL IN THE WEST OF HAINAN ISLAND
Abstract: The contents of trace elements in different soils derived from five latosol profiles in the west of Hainan Island indicated that the trace elements contents of soils show a similar variation trend. For example, the average contents of Cu, Pb, Zn, As are higher and Ni, Mo, Cd, Sn, Sb are lower than those of latosol soils in South China. The study also indicated that the contents of trace elements in the soils and their variation trend are determined by the parent material of the soils. And although only a little amount of trace elements has undergone vertical migration in the latosol profiles, the contents of trace elements and their spatial variation can be changed. Trace elements in the soils such as As, Cd, Pb can be enriched in the lower layers of the latosol profiles because of the influence of human’s activities.
