Title: Cultures Expressed in Chinese Language Context and the Philosophical Communication between China and Iran——On the Fusion of Chinese and Iranian Philosophical Thoughts in Lawa'ih and Displaying the Concealment of the Real Realm
Abstract: As a famous Chinese translator at the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Liu Zhi made his translation, introduction and works full of innovative thoughts and pioneering spirit. His philosophical thoughts were originated from his profound study and understanding about the Islamic philosophy, thoughts and Chinese traditional philosophy. Among his translation of Lawa'ih written by Abd al-Rahman Jami, a famous philosopher, thinker and poet in Islamic philosophy, Displaying the Concealment of the Real Realm is the most remarkable one that reflects his creation in translation. Displaying the Concealment of the Real Realm is not only faithful to the original version, but also goes beyond its frontier with the wisdom of a Chinese Muslim and makes a creative expression and the appropriate transformation of Islamic philosophy into Chinese. Therefore Islamic philosophy, esp. the philosophical thoughts of coexistence in Sufism and the ideal of Sufism to pursue and realize the surpassing of self and sublimation of the soul have been directly embodied in Chinese language. In Chinese Islamic history of thoughts, Displaying the Concealment of the Real Realm is of great theoretical value and significance, shows the communication and fusion of Islamic and Chinese philosophy and no doubt a historical picture, which reflects the mutual learning, understanding, exchange and communication between human beings.
