Title: Can Public Investment Narrow the Income Gap between Urban and Rural Residents
Abstract: This paper can be divided into four categories based by the usefulness of public investment,and finds that not all public investment can narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents through empirical analysis of using provincial panel data,the public investment in infrastructure investment and social service can narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents,but the education of science and technology and other public investments tend to enlarge the income gap between urban and rural residents.The article also make approximately same conclusion through empirical analysis in the eastern,central and western,except for some small gap.Based on the empirical analysis,the article put forward the corresponding proposal.
