Title: Application of Kalman Filter in Photoelectric Thedolite
Abstract: In a photoelectric theodolite, the time delay of TV miss distance has an influence on stability and tracking accuracy of the control system. Prediction filtering technique is applied to solve this problem. Kalman filter is designed in polar coordinates. The target model is based constant velocity and a random acceleration. Compensation for time delay is augmented in Kalman filtering algorithm. The simulation results show that tracking errors are reduced and tracking control system can also track the target according to the predicting information when target is lost.
