Title: Geological characteristics and deposit genesis of Maodeng molybdenum-tin-copper deposit,Inner Mongolia
Abstract: The Maodeng molybdenum-tin-copper deposit located in the Inner Mongolia,is a large molybdenum polymetallic deposit explored in recent years. The molybdenum deposit has the large size in tonnage, the molybdenum ore bodies are in forms of bedded,stratiform-like and thick lenticular shapes and occur in the middle level below the surface. The ore body is mainly controlled by breccias in the external contact zone of granite intrusive, and the deposit genesis is the high-mesothermal hydrothermal breccia type deposit. The tin-copper ore bodies consist of a series of parallel and dense veins which incline steeply and occur in the middle-shallow level. The tin-copper orebody is generally tabular, and mainly controlled by the breccias on the western side of the outer contact zone of granite porphyry and the NW-trending fracture structures within the metamorphic siltstone, and the deposit type belongs to the structure-altered type and high-mesothermal hydrothermal vein type tin-copper deposit. In this paper, the geological characteristics and genesis of the Maodeng molybdenum-tin-copper deposit are discussed based on the metallogenic conditions, geological characteristics of the orebody and the ore-controlling factors.
