Title: Influence of amisulpride on electrocardiogram in schizophrenic patients
Abstract: Objective To explore the influence of amisulpride on QTc interval of electrocardiogram( ECG) in schizophrenic patients. Methods 62 schizophrenic patients were randomly divided into amisulpride group( 31 cases including 13 cases with low-dose amisulpride and 18 cases with high-dose amisulpride) and risperidone group( 31cases) treated with amisulpride and risperidone respectively. All patients were recorded with ECG at baseline and at the end of the 4th week of the treatment. QTc interval was analyzed between amisulpride group and risperidone group. Results The mean QTc interval in amisulpride group were significantly longer than that in risperidone group after 4-week treatment [( 413. 39 ± 36. 55) ms vs.( 392. 58 ± 14. 97) ms,P 0. 05]. Mean QTc interval at the end of the 4th week of treatment was prolonged significantly in high-dose amisulpride subgroup but not in low-dose amisulpride subgroup when compared with the baseline( P 0. 05). Conclusion QTc interval can be prolonged by amisulpride in large dose.
