Title: Self synchronization in ad hoc TDMA networks
Abstract: System synchronization of ad hoc networks is difficult due to the lack of a fixed infrastructure and the node mobility. A self synchronization algorithm was developed for ad hoc time division multiple access (TDMA) networks in which the network topology structure information is gathered at various time to build a connected domain set so as to broadcast system synchronization messages over the whole network. Theoretical analysis and simulations show that the system synchronization time cost is about 16.7% with a successful synchronization probability of higher than 95% in typical network environments. The algorithm is simpler and has better performance than previous algorithms.
