Title: Genetic diversity and classification of Fujian yellow cattle
Abstract: The genetic diversity of eight microsatellite sites was studied by PCR,and the allele frequency, polymorphism information content(PIC),heterozygosity(H) and effective number of alleles(E) in different cattle populations were analyzed with statistics method. At the same time, the cluster of these cattle has also been studied. The results were showed as follow.(1) The eight microsatellite sites analyzed were polymorphic in these cattle populations. The average numbers of alleles and PIC in each site were 7.2(3-11) and 0.6471(0.3942-0.8062) respectively. The difference of average PIC among these populations was not significant. The average H in all populations was 0.2930,the average E was 3.37 (3.03-3.84).These results indicated that there was a good compatibility between the parameters including allele frequencies,PIC,H and E in different cattle populations. It also showed that they were rich in genetic polymorphisms of microsatellite sites within a breed and between breeds of the cattle.(2) According to Neis standard genetic distance, the UPGMA dendrogram indicated that there was little genetic difference among four populations. They were rich in genetic polymorphisms of microsatellite sites within a breed of Minnan yellow cattle. This cluster result showed that these populations belong to the same breed.
