Title: THE CARBONIFEROUSQUATERNARY TECTONIC EVOLUTION AND STRATIGRAPHIC ASSEMBLAGES CHARACTERISTICS OF TARIM BASIN
Abstract: The tectonic development during the carboniferous Quaternary in Tarim basin could be included in one large scale tectonic cycle. The tectonic evolution of the basin can be divided into four stages: the cratonic marginal depressions, the foreland basins, the fault controlled and non-fault controlled depressions, and the compound foreland basins. The stratigraphic assemblages were obviously controlled by tectonic processes. Four tectonic stratigraphic assemblages have been identified according to the basin tectonics and sediments filling characteristics.
