Abstract: As one of the earliest critics of the French Revolution,Edmund Burke criticized the basic principles of the Revolution in many works.Based on his ideas of the British view of liberty,Burke considered the radical democracy of French Revolution would threat the liberal traditions of European,so what he actually did is put the British liberty against French equality.However,Burke failed to see that the democracy had become the unstoppable historical tendency.The complexity of the political thoughts in the end of the 18th century Europe is analyzed by examining Burke's reflections on the French Revolution.
