Title: Crossing the Border and Positioning: The Fate of Japanese Literature in Modern China:A Probe Into Some Questions Concerning Japanese Literary Education in China in Its Incubation Period
Abstract: Japanese literature is first considered as an existence not necessarily essential in sinology and a synonym of Japanese education, and even a foreign tool to preach.Next,it undergoes the lead-in stage on the premise of ideas not changing much, and a rough establishment of the classification of subjects during the academic transition in modern academic research. Then,it sees the installment and uninstallment in the process of balancing between the advantages and disadvantages of near-imitation in education. The fate of Japanese literature in Chinese literati and educational system in modern times has been defined and decided by a comparison of Chinese literature with western literature. On the one hand, the Chinese people have long held a preconception that Japanese culture is one featured by word-for-word translation. On the other hand, the Japanese people's reverence for sinology further strengthens the Chinese people's cultural confidence. The two combine to determine the place and fate of Japanese literature.Despite that, the debates in modern academic research and in the period of education transformation about what is Japanese literature, and whether / how it can be brought into education system or not,as well as the trial of bringing it into education system, have provided food for thought and the possibility of system building for the molding of the Japanese literary education in China.
