Title: The Effect of Western Positivism on Wang Guowei's Academic Research
Abstract: The philosophy of Kant had a great influence upon Wang Guowei in his early academic research work. The concept of dualism in Kant's philosophy is commonly regarded as a theoretical juncture of Wang's shift to adopting the approach of logical positivism. And this adoption seemed to have brought forth both positive effect and negative effect on Wang Guowei when he applied the positivism to observe and examine Chinese traditional philosophy. However, when Wang made an access to his historical studies with positivism he successfully established his particular academic style and study methodology.
