Title: Holmium laser lithotripsy and pneumatic lithotripsy for the treatment of postoperative bile duct stone remnants
Abstract: Objective To compare holmium laser lithotripsy and pneumatic lithotripsy for the treatment of postoperative bile duct stone remnants.Methods Holmium laser lithotripsy was used in 85 patients with residual bile duct stones after operation.Pneumatic lithotripsy was used treat 85 patients with residual bile duct stones after operation.Results Eighty-five patients underwent holmium laser lithotripsy with a crushed stone rate of 96.4% and the average operative time of 25 minutes.In the pneumatic lithotripsy group the above-mentioned indicators were 78.8%,49 minutes,and in the holmium laser lithotripsy group they were significantly different.Conclusion Holmium laser lithotripsy is better than pneumatic lithotripsy in effectiveness,and it is the treatment of choice for postoperative bile duct stone remnants.
