Title: Narrow-sensed and Broad-sensed Grammaticalization
Abstract: Many scholars both at home and abroad often confine grammaticalization to the lexical level, but some cognitive linguists have broadened its scope into syntax and discourse levels, even including how syntactic structures originate from typical conceptual structures. On reviewing the grammaticalization scope, both internally and externally this paper is attempted to divide it into 3 levels: narrow-sensed, wide-sensed, and widest-sensed levels, with emphasis on 6 types: word class, word formation, discourse, pragmatics, propositional schemas and tense-aspect marker, and syntactic structures.
