Title: The Research Review of Constructed Wetland Systems for Wastewater Treatment
Abstract: Constructed wetlands are complicated ecological systems, including a lots of components, such as plants, substrates and microorganisms, with contributions to water quality improvement. In recent years, these systems have wildly been used in the purification and treatment of domestic sewage because of their efficiencies and relatively low capital investment. Moreover, there has been a strong potential for the technical improvement of the systems to be applied to special wastewater treatment.Factors influencing the performance of the systems were analyzed, and the removal mechanisms and current design criteria for the systems were introduced and discussed.
