The Kunqu opera becoming a national drama does not result from its stage becoming official. Instead, it depends on the umbilical cord of Suzhou-zhongzhou sound to absorb and integrate the four sounds of the Nanqu opera and the Beiqu opera and it is finally realized by WEI Liang-fu's creation of the new sound. The Kunqu opera is the combination of the folk music-the Nanqu opera and the Beiqu opera and is a wonderful flower of the folk culture; therefore, the Kunqu opera has two hometowns: Suzhou in the narrow sense and China in the broad sense.
