Title: Strengthening Oxygen Delignification by Surfactant
Abstract: Surfactants with better performance on oxygen delignification were screened out by investigating the influences of various surfactants on bamboo oxygen delignification. Then, composites of the selected surfactants were used in ODQP bleaching. Results show that the promoting effect of various surfactants on the oxygen delignification of bamboo pulp follows the order of anionicnon-ioniccationic one.For the anionic surfactants, the promoting effect is related to their hydrophilic groups, which follow the order of sulfonatephosphatesulfate saltcarboxylate. The appropriate anionic surfactants include sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS),sodium N-oleoyl-N-methyl taurinate and LAS while the appropriate non-ionic surfactant were AEO7,JX08-01 and AES.In addition, composite of different surfactants can increase the oxygen delignification selectivity, and improve the oxygen delignification. When the anionic surfactant is combined with the other anionic and nonionic one,the whiteness of bamboo pulp can be as high as 84.2%ISO after DQP bleaching.Futhermore, the pulp viscosity and whiteness are more stable while the breaking length, tear index and burst index were higher than those of conventional oxygen delignified DQP bleached pulp at the same beating degree.
