Title: Level of the pleural effusions CA125 for the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy
Abstract: Objective To study the value of CA125 from pleural effusions in diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy. Methods Pleural effusions fluid CA125 and ADA of 40 clinical exudative tuberculosis pleurisy patients were measured by electrochemiluminescence assay(ECLA).Results The positive rate of CA125 in exudative tuberculosis pleurisy patients(92.5%) were higher than the rate of ADA(75%).Conclusion Pleural effusions fluid CA125 has high sensitivity but low specificity in the detection of clinical exudative tuberculosis pleurisy, the combined use of CA125 and ADA can significantly improve the chance of identifying tuberculosis pleurisy.
