Title: STUDY ON THE CURRENT SITUATION OF KNOWLEDGE OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AMONG STUDENTS IN A VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Abstract: ObjectiveTo understand the reproductive health state in puberty among the college students,to provide basic information and scientific basis for education and management of teenagers' reproductive health by government and school.MethodsStratified cluster sampling method was employed to select 1 300 students from the college as subjects of the study.ResultsAmong the sruveyed students,46.85% knew about menstrual hygiene,and junior college students knew better than technical secondary school students.The average age of students who were concerned about sexual knowledge was 15.67±1.870 years old.27.00% thought that sexual contact would not spread AIDS,female respondents knew better than male ones.36.85% had no idea that condom is disposable,and the awareness rate of students from technical secondary school was higher than junior college,that for male higher than female,that for those from cities higher than those from rural areas.60.46% would take safety protective measures when they had sexual behaviors,those from secondary school would do better than those from college,and the awareness rate for male was higher than female.Ways of learning reproductive health were medical book(50.31%),newspaper and magazine(48.54%),health education courses in college(44.08%),classmates interaction(43.00%)and sketches and pictures of intimacies between men and women from novel and media(42.05%)in sequence.ConclusionsComprehension for reproductive health knowledge among students is not perfect.
