Title: The experiences of reshaping the nasal tips of 50 cases with flat nose
Abstract: Objective To explore a new method of nasal tip reshaping. Methods For 50 patients with fatty flat, blunt nasal tips, we have designed a novel operative method, in which the procedures such as the transposition of the tip fat-connective tissue flap, partial resection and suspension of lateral crus of the alar cartilage, and fixation of the tip skin with mattress sutures are consecutively performed. If necessary, the resected alar cartilages can be put back onto the nasal tip. Results All the 50 patients were followed up and the period was 6~18 months. Of them 36 patients were satisfied with the final outcome and 14 patients claimed that the nasal contour had been improved and considered the outcome to be acceptable. No complications occurred so far. Conclusion This method can be applied to patients with flat, fatty, round nasal tip and redundant subcutaneuous tissue.
