Title: Analysis of Carotid Ultrasonography in Oatients of Type 2 Diabetes
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of high-frequency ultrasound in detecting carotid atherosclerosis in patients of type 2 diabetes. Method:110 cases were performed with color Doppler ultrasonography for carotid artery examination, to explore the type 2 diabetes effect on the carotid artery structure and function, all results obtained in patients with T2DM were compared with those in 100 healthy controls. Result:Among 110 patients with T2DM,73 cases(66.36%)had more or less carotid atherosclerosis,of whom,17 cases(15.45%)had grade Ⅲ,while in 100 healthy controls, carotid atherosclerosis was found only in 19 cases (19%),of whom,3 cases(3%) had grade Ⅲ,and therefore there was significant difference between the both groups(P0.05). At the same time, through to the T2DM group and normal control group, the carotid artery diameter, intima-media thickness measurement, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P0.05) .Conclusion:The incidence of carotid atherosclerosis in the patients with T2DM is significantly higher than that in the healthy controls. The high-frequency ultrasound is a convenient, effective and valuable method to detect the carotid atherosclerosis of patients with T2DM.
